I'm excited to see the film. There's of questions in my head and I'm anxious to see if this reboot/prequel thing works. I see this movie like BACK TO THE FUTURE 2, but with out the reset to the Bif Tannon universe.

I honestly can't remember the last time I've looked forward to seeing a movie so much.

Any plans for a BITD meet-up to see Star Trek? I passed on seeing Watchmen (I didn't want to see it), but I'm up for seeing this one.

Well, we all missed the Watchmen meet-up, but that's another story... As for Star Trek...I don't think it's a great secret that I'm not a fan. To me, Star Trek is the greatest television series you've ever seen when you're thirteen....and then you grow up. And I left my love of the Trek back there in junior high. I will admit, I loved that teaser trailer last year, but now that I see the fuller 'not your dad's TREK' one, I'm back to going 'meh'. Maybe it's because I don't care for space opera that has led to my disinterest in Star Trek...and Firefly/Serenity...and that abomination called Star Wars...but I'm just not exactly motivated to see this one. (This doesn't mean we're not going to do that TREK overview once Dave Ellis says he's ready. Make a promise, keep a promise.)

I saw the "not your father's Star Trek" commercial during The Office last night. My wife told me "That's the movie you want to see?"
I'm a moderate Trek fan at best, but everything I've seen (except for that commercial) has caught my interest. I can't say that about any of the other big summer movies (I'm skipping Wolverine even though I grew up reading The Uncanny X-Men).

See, the way to get around that is to marry a woman who likes STAR TREK as much as you do. I'm lucky that way in that Patricia wants to see the movie just as much as I do. And I'm actually looking forward to the WOLVERINE movie. I'm not a fan of them in their comic book incarnation but I really enjoyed the first two X-MEN movies and greatly prefer the movie version over the comic book.
