Way back around 2002/2003 I started writing an ambitious story based on the Hammer horror movie "Frankenstein And The Monster From Hell" Quite a lot of people seemed to enjoy it and even though I knew there was little chance of getting it published, I was having a ball writing it as I am a major fan of all of the Hammer Frankenstein movies starring Peter Cushing. Well, with my somewhat limited success with writing in the last few years, and after discussion with my Pulpwork Press colleague Josh Reynolds, I'm intending to finally finish the durn thing for publication next Halloween. It should make a nice companion piece with the second book in his Dracula Trilogy DRACULA UNBOUND! And if you're interested in Josh's book (and there's no reason why you shouldn't be) then check out his All Pulp Interview: allpulp.blogspot.com/2010/10/interview-with-pulp-writing-dynamo.htmlOr his appearance on The Book Cave: thebookcave.libsyn.com/2010/10 Episode #98 And as an added treat here's a link to the fan fiction site that hosted the first seven chapters of my version of FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL. Be warned that it's not finished and so if you don't want to start a story that won't be finished until next year, I quite understand. But if you do decide to check it out, let me know what you think, okay? www.carnaj.com/subculture/frankenstein/franktitle.htmHappy Halloween, ya'll!

After reading Josh's DRACULA LIVES (which people should read, it's awesome, cheap, and won't take up much of your time), I was thinking about your Frankenstein take. I was going to start pressuring you to finish it for publication, so glad Josh beat me to the punch.

After reading Josh's DRACULA LIVES (which people should read, it's awesome, cheap, and won't take up much of your time), I was thinking about your Frankenstein take. I was going to start pressuring you to finish it for publication, so glad Josh beat me to the punch. I put the story aside for the longest time because I was trying to find out if the source material was in public domain or not. If it was I was going to try and make a deal with the copyright holder as I felt uncomfortable just going ahead and publishing a novel based on a screenplay without making some kind of effort to get permission. People who have read my story and seen the movie have told me that they think my story is different enough to qualify as an original story. My wife Patricia says there's a good way to find out if the original is in public domain or not; "Go ahead and publish it," she said. "Trust me, that'll bring 'em out. Especially if it sells." And Josh concurred. So that gave me the go ahead to dust off the story and finally finish it.
