I just watched the 70s Euro-Crime picture REVOLVER. Some cool stuff in this, but it didn't really work -- difficult to enjoy as it's a really poorly dubbed DVD. The pretty ingenious premise, though, is that a Milanese prison warden (Oliver Reed)'s wife is kidnapped. The kidnappers demand that Reed help spring a petty criminal (Fabio Testi). The only problem is, once Reed has the con loose, neither man knows who wanted him out or why. As they draw nearer to the warden's wife the body count and political implications rise. Things also bog down -- but there's a sting in the tale. I can easily see this being re-worked and made better. (As opposed to something like PELHAM 123, where a perfect picture is needlessly remade.)
