My two favorite horror writers from the late '60s and early '70s were Ira Levin and Thomas Tryon (who starred in I MARRIED A MONSTER FROM OUTER SPACE). My mom would read them to me (censored, I guess) until I could tackle them myself.
I would love to see you guys do a podcast that focuses on film adaptions of their work. There'd be plenty to look at.
Ira Levin - THE STEPFORD WIVES (forget that remake!), ROSEMARY'S BABY (one of the best films ever made), THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL and two versions of A KISS BEFORE DYING. Tryon - HARVEST HOME (only a so-so television adaption) and the greatly underappreciated THE OTHER.
That would make for an interesting episode!
