I just listened to this episode and I completely agree it's curious how this film has fallen by the wayside. (Although I saw this opening day with a friend of mine who I remember was terribly disturbed by it.) I recall thinking at the time that if the sequence where J-Lo suits up and starts kicking ass had been longer, the film might have been better received because she looked so hot and was so bad-ass. I don't think she gets the props she deserves for the variety of movies that she starred in when she was white-hot, this included. She could have gone the rom-com route all the way, but in fact took on some offbeat stuff, ala Angel Eyes, Enough and yes the Martin Brest movie Gigli. Now that her last two films have been Hispanic-centric, Hollywood seems to have abandoned her.
Also, apropos of Patrick Bergen he made a great film that has totally been lost to time called Mountains of the Moon. He played the explorer Richard Burton in this movie directed by Bob Rafelson that was almost Lean-ean in it's epic size. I saw this on a very big screen having no expectations at all and was completely blown away. Not even sure if this is on DVD.

Lopez also starred in a great Steven Soderbergh movie, Out of Sight (an adaptation of an Elmore Leonard novel). I think the film didn't do well at the box office, which is a shame, as it deserved better.
There's a connection between this film and another Leonard adaptation, Jackie Brown (I mean, aside from being sourced from two of his books). Anyone who hasn't seen both what it should watch them together to figure it out.

The first movie I saw with Jennifer Lopez in a starring role was BLOOD AND WINE. And I was impressed with her acting considering her co-stars were Michael Caine and Jack Nicholson. She didn't do bad at all, I thought.
