To anyone out there just discovering Better in the Dark there are some ESSENTIAL PODCASTS that will give you the overall feel of the podcasts and whet your appetite for more.
There are about three or for theme's I've noticed.
In depth looks at certain directors. Review Rounds Ups The James Bond series and finally off the wall fun as hell random topics to listen to.
Samplers I'd recommend going with to get a taste of the excellent entertainment Tom and Derrick provide would be as follows.
The recent ZACH SNYDER...this one was a blast that covered everything from Snyder's films to 80's comic creators going bat##t crazy to even nude Helen Mirren talk.
For BOND be sure to check out the TIMOTHY DALTON episode covering his movies for great analysis on an excellent Bond.
Episode 91 is a fine example of covering a bunch of movies...this time form summer 2010...can you say MACHETE DON'T TEXT?
but my number one all time pick is BETTER IN THE DARK 48...If you are old enough to remember or young and wonder what the old days of single screen theatre's this is an audio feast. The walk down memory lane Tom and Derrick take made me super nostalgic for the old theatre's of my youth. It brought me back to seeing STAR WARS for the first time in the Lake Placid movie theatre that still had WOODEN seats and I was reminded what a HUGE deal it was when the mall opened in 1975 in the nearest city with an AMAZING two screens!! This episode was just marvelous and it's a must listen to for anyone who loves the movies!
Glad you enjoyed the episode! A lot of our younger listeners have said before how much they enjoy hearing from us how movie going was such a different experience back in the 70's and 80's from what it is now.
