Here are some tidbits I've just discovered about the next Wolverine flick, which may begin shooting in March. And so far, it sounds like this flick is definitely on the right track.
First off, Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote The Usual Suspects, is writing this film. Second, it's going to be set in Japan. Third, it's going to be a one-off film, not a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Fourth, the title is simple -- just The Wolverine. Fifth and most importantly, Darren Aronofsky is going to direct it.
Right now, I'm excited about this. Hopefully, Aronofsky has enough clout at this point where Fox will leave him alone and let him do his thing as opposed to interfering and completely fucking up the movie (like they did with the last film and X-Men: The Last Stand).

Aronofsky directing means I'm in the theater opening day. If Fox leaves him alone, we could get one of the best superhero films to date.
