And while were at it, let's not have an IRON MAN 2.

Speak for yourself, I loved Iron Man 2.
This is disappointing news. From interviews, it sounded like Faveau had a plan to introduce the Mandarin in an interesting way in the third film and I would have loved to see how he handled it.

IRON MAN 2 rocked.
And its a damn shame Marvel is too cheap to pay Jon Favreau more money. He's more than earned it. And I don't think he'll be away from the superhero movie for long. If I were a Warner Bros. suit I'd be on the phone to him right now asking which DC superhero is his favorite.

Honestly, I don't know about that. I loved the first Iron Man and found the second to be a mess. I don't know how much of that I can attribute to Marvel Studios interference and how much I can attribute to Favreau.

I do recall Favreau saying the thing that excited him about Thor was that it introduced a mystical element into the Marvel Universe--which would give him a chance to introduce the Mandarin logically.

If Marvel was smart, they'd realize they're going to regret their frugality and make amends with him immediately.

What do people make of the news that Shane Black is writing IM3 ? I expect, given their collaboration on KISS KISS, BANG BANG, this is a play by RDJ. I wonder if there'll be a fanboy freak-out.

Shoot, I don't want to over-hype it, but I'd be amazed if you and Tom both didn't aggressively love it.
