Bitchin'. Nazis, King Arthur, Springsteen and the B-52s in one episode. My head almost exploded!
I have a feeling that Lee often gave pretty dull synopses to the guys and they would draw it (probably in under a week) when he would forget what he was thinking and have to make up dialogue on the spot.
He was nuts. Kirby's a genius and even Pride Parade Red Skull gets a loving memory from yours truly.

He was nuts. Kirby's a genius and even Pride Parade Red Skull gets a loving memory from yours truly. When I choose the outro song for each episode, I try to tie it into the episode proper...for this one, using The B-52's 'Cosmic Thing' was a no-brainer. You're probably right on Lee--although if you look at stuff like The Fantastic Four and Spider-Man, even Cap's co-feature in TOS, Iron Man, there's a lot more coherence and a sense of purpose in them. Cap just seems to be a particularly tough nut for him to crack, with him changing the book's direction so often in the early issues....
