I'm sure you guys already have something in the pipeline, but I'm still holding out hope for some chit chat about some classic Universal horror goodness.

I'm sure you guys already have something in the pipeline, but I'm still holding out hope for some chit chat about some classic Universal horror goodness. You know...we've already recorded our annual 'Horror Films You Might Not HAve Considered For A Halloween Marathon' episode, and it will be out in October, but.... I'm thinking doing one of those overview episodes on a Universal monster series is a great idea! Derrick and I will talk about it on Friday, when we're scheduled to have our next teleconference! GREAT IDEA!

Ah excellent, another "HFYMNHCFAHM" episode. Looking forward to it, the last one was my gateway to Phantasm, which is now one of my all time favorites.

The Universal Frankenstein movies have plenty of material to work with. The first two films are excellent, especially Bride of Frankenstein, and the third is very good (and the inspiration for much of the plot of Young Frankenstein). And the last two have some truly bizzaro continuity errors (mostly due to Bela Lugosi wanting to play the monster, after having turned down the role for the original).
Universal boxed all five in a terrific set that I bought (though I think it's out of print now). Watching them, you can see a genre series peak creatively and slowly degrade into unintentional self-parody. (For intentional self-parody, you can get the Abbot and Costello monster movies together in another set).
