How about looking at Sergio Leone's excellent and influential series, A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE and THE GOOD, THE BAD and THE UGLY. I always thought of ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST as the ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE of the lot (in that if it had starred Clint Eastwood instead of Charles Bronson, it would have been the jewel of the series). You could actually cover all of Leone's work as he's only officially credited with two more filmsa side from the above.

I know we've talked about doing either this as a series, or doing an entire Leone retrospective...so in one form or another this will definitely be getting some BITD attention.

It's always amazed me that Sergio Leone is so identified with the Spaghetti Western genre and is regarded as its leading pioneer considering he only made six westerns. It's said he was an uncredited co-director on MY NAME IS NOBODY and I agree. And his last official western was DUCK, YOU SUCKER which is the only Sergio Leone film I can't decide if I like or not.

I'm with you on DUCK, YOU SUCKER (also known as A FISTFUL OF DYNAMITE), I can get sucked into certain scenes, but it does not hold together so well as a complete film.

I'd love to hear a show on Leone or The Other Sergio -- Carbucci. His pictures are a little less grandiose than Leone, but I think are comparably good. It would be interesting to hear your guy's breakdown on the Django or Sabata characters. It never ceases to amaze me how often and variously these two figures show up. It would probably be difficult to chart a survey of them as I don't think a viable continuity is possible.
