Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, twice. It was a nice store, though it was oriented heavily toward the fanboy (superhero) side of comic books. I did buy a copy of Marvel's Longshot trade paperback there, at a time when it had been out of print for awhile (Marvel recently republished it in hardcover). There was also plenty of Smith-related memorabilia (scripts, t-shirts, etc.). There was a television monitor, hanging from the ceiling, that was broadcasting a fan-made VHS recording of various news broadcasts about the release of Return of the Jedi on one of my visits.

I keep telling myself I'm going to check it out one of these days just to say I've been there. Maybe this summer...

If you and Tom decide to visit it maybe this spring or summer, let me know and we can meet up for a beer. Red Bank's a lot like Hoboken. Many good bars.

I just left my Kevin Smith rant under the Future DIrector's heading. I guess that I should have placed it here.

I just left my Kevin Smith rant under the Future DIrector's heading. I guess that I should have placed it here. I have to go back and re-listen to the episode you cited, because I honestly don't recall either of us ever comparing Smith to Wells...

Derrick says it and you kind of went along. I'll have to go back and listen to it myself. See, I only listen to BiTD episodes twice: When Tom and I are actually doing it and again when the ep actually drops after Tom has done his editing magic and added in music, bells & whistles and all whatnot. Why is that? Simple: I cannot stand the sound of my recorded voice and it actually makes me cringe to listen to myself. It's possible I said it since I do tend to get excited and carried away with enthusiasm while recording these things and I did compare Kevin Smith to Orson Welles. Tell you what, I'll listen to it tomorrow and then come on back here and see if I can successfully dig myself outta the hole I dug. Fair enough? ;D

To be fair, you were mainly drawing the comparison because they both had their biggest successes early on, but it hit me hard and fast. I think I said in an earlier post that I tend to be very opinionated and get on my high horse, despite trying not to. It's why I can't stay married or in a relationship for too long. No need to dig.
