Derrick and Tom have mentioned recording a Universal horror film episode, and someone at Film Forum in New York might have been listenening, because they are running a series on the films of James Whale from December 4th and 10th.
Not all of these are horror films, but you do get the first two Frankenstein films, The Invisible Man and best of all, The Old Dark House (a film once considered lost until director Curtis Harrington discovered a print). I've seen all of them, but never on the big screen. And it's not a horror film, but the series also includes Green Hell - Universal recycled some of this film's sets for The Mummy's Hand (the first Mummy sequel).
For whatever reason Film Forum isn't running The Great Garrick (a Whale comedy about theater acting I really want to see), but there's plenty of other good stuff they're offering (including the recent Whale biopic Gods and Monsters, surprisngly enough).

The plan is for Derrick and I to tackle the Universal horror canon, character by character (we don't have a name for this yet, so suggestions are welcome) once we wrap up the Gilt-Edged Bonds and the related Rivals of Bond feature series. If it works pretty well, I might try and coax Derrick into doing the Hammer horror canon after that.
