Thanks for the heads up! This is part of IFC's "grindhouse" month, which they run every so often (especially around October, as you noted). And they always run Tobe Hooper's Eaten Alive. Anyway, last week IFC broadcast the Canadian film Ginger Snaps as part of grindhouse month. I'm really grateful that they did, because their print was letterboxed and in the correct aspect ratio (or close enough to it, presumably), and I recorded it. The American DVD has always been panned-and-scanned, which mystifies me (not just that anyone's releasing a P&S DVD these days, but that, with the cult following Ginger Snaps has, you'd think someone would have come up with the bright idea of rereleasing the DVD with the correct aspect ratio). There is a Canadian DVD with the correct A/R, but it's expensive, from what I remember.

james,
Yeah, IFC used to only have Fridays as a Grindhouse double feature night, then expanded it to weekends and now they're having Grindhouse Months where every night at midnight they show a grindhouse flick.
Is it too much to hope that maybe they're testing the waters for a Grindhouse channel?

Given how many titles IFC repeats every time they run a grindhouse series, I'd have to guess probably not.
IFC also used to have a fantastic Saturday morning series called Samurai Saturdays, where they would run samurai films, most of which were not directed by Akira Kurosawa, so you got to watch some rare (in the U.S.) titles. They discontinued that series, too, blah.

It reminded me of back in the 70's and 80's when Channel 5 would show a kung fu movie double feature on Saturdays.
