I was wondering how people were responding to the NetFlix subscription changes that start today. For other reasons I've put my account on hold right now -- which I hope they take as a protest -- but was curious what others were doing.

Even before the subscription changes I cut out getting the DVDs by mail and opted for streaming only. I really don't see why people are making such a big deal about the whole thing.

Well, I wouldn't go along with the hysteria necessarily, but I also think when a company increases the cost of their services by 60% (during rough economic times) they can expect a backlash and I wouldn't begrudge anyone who dropped them. I became miffed when they charged a higher cost for a blu-ray subscription even if during the course of a month you only watched their older titles which are all standard DVD.

What people need to remember about Netflix is that this new plan is still cheaper than it was when they first started out. I can only use streaming since I live in Japan anyway, so it doesn't affect me but even if I was in the States, I'd still keep up with both plans.
