As always, fellas.
I take issue with Derrick saying "they will" in response to people who say they're not going to see a movie. I don't. I vote with my wallet and, unlike a lot of people, I refuse to go and see a movie for the sole purpose of lambasting it.
But I also don't go around blabbing about how this sucks so bad and I'm not going top see it so maybe he was only referring to loudmouth fanboy douches, of which I am not.
Also, "nary a chuckle?" is probably my favorite BITD line of the year.

They're the ones who send me a dozen emails or bend my ear on Skype or the phone screaming about how such-and-such movie is going to suck gorilla balls and will cause the End Of All Life As We Know It and they would stick white-hot knitting needles in their eyes before they would willing watch such excrement. And then the VERY DAY the movie opens they're sending me emails or trying to get hold of me on Skype so they can tell me that YES! They just back from seeing the hated movie they swore on their very mother's soul they would never go see sucked just as much as they thought it would.

Oh God, Derrick, I know some of those people. My beef with some fanboys you meet is that they sometimes feel their rarefied expertise on a given subject / character / genre entitles them to an intellectual dispensation whereby they're able to spiritedly opine on films they haven't seen -- or ones that possibly haven't even yet been made or at least completed. Because you read on some message board somewhere that Chris Evans' junior high school math teacher once said in his sleep that Jack Kirby sucks, doesn't mean that CAPTAIN AMERICA will be the worst film ever made.
I'm reminded of a great line from CATCH-22 where a character is described as "knowing every about literature, except how to enjoy it."
And I love when those attitudes get shown up. I would have paid to watch CASINO ROYALE seated behind the webmaster for the DanielCraigIsNotBond website...
