Joe Kelly's reinvention of Deadpool, from Liefeld's bald Deathstroke copy to a fourth-wall breaking mischief-maker aware of his existence as a character in a comic book, was terrific. But no other writer has has been able to replicate Kelly's magic. The only reason Deadpool has a following among comic book fans is Kelly's work, not Liefeld's (he may have invented the character, who again, was originally an imitation, but Liefeld's Deadpool had no personality whatsoever). I'll be switched if I can figure out why he's so worried. Deadpool is such a poor character that anything FOX could do to him could only make him better./ You've mentioned this a lot but I have to ask -- have you ever read Joe Kelly's run? You said you liked Reynolds as Deadpool and his performance was 100% taken from Kelly's depiction of the character. Check out some of the early issues of that run. You can get them in the Deadpool Classic vol. 2 TPB. Hell, I've got digital versions of them, I'll gladly send them to you. Don't let poor writers trying to be funny (and failing miserably) color your perceptions of a character who can be relentlessly entertaining.
