As mentioned in today's show, here are the ground rules for being one of our call-in guests.
1) We will choose twelve call-in guests, with six stand-by/alternates.
2) To be chosen as a call-in guest, send an email to betterinthedark@earth-2.net with--
*Your name and location (i.e. John Smith from Smithville, AL) *Your Skyle number/handle, even if you have it *The subject you want to talk about
3) We will notify you via email about a month before the recording in November as to the date and time.
4) Be available during that time period. If you cannot make it, tell us ASAP so we can give you slot to one of the alternates.
5) We will call you via Skype during that day and time.
6) Please keep your call to ten minutes or less. If you take less then ten minutes, we will call one of the six back-ups...
If there are any questions, leave 'em here.

Hey, I would love to try for a chance, but I know nothing about Skype. Is it impossible to call in?
If not, I do have a Skype App on my Blackberry Storm, so I guess I'll just have to activate it and learn how to use it. I hate technology, I feel like a manchild around it.

We don't have any equipment that would allow us to manage multiple calls from landlines or cell lines, and effectively record them as digital files...so Skype is it. Plus, we're now skilled enough in this program's use that it's the best choice to keep things smooth....

We've extended the deadline to apply for a call-in slot until the end of the month...so if you've been thinking about it, this is your chance!

Create an account and it works pretty much the same as any instant messenger program. Skype's got very good FAQs on their site -- it's one of the easiest programs to use.

You know skype's easy to use when I can walk people through set-up over the phone.
