Glad to hear some CHUCK-love on BitD, as that's my favorite show on TV now. I'm a spy-nut, and I loved 24 and ALIAS, but I think there's a dram-edic thread of heart that makes CHUCK a new classic. Funnier than anything on THE OFFICE, yet with underlying adventures that are more satisfying that what you have on BURN NOTICE, where the civilian-in-peril story-lines distract from the main characters who are more interesting.
BUT, okay I have to provide the dissenting opinion on Yvonne Stahowski. Whenever I watch her I marvel at how perfectly proportioned she is! Her limbs are complete perfection! (And she is over five-nine.) Plus she's great in all her fights scenes. It's hilarious to watch Gabrielle Anwar (a good actress) but laughable in her action scenes -- she runs like a girl.

I'll agree on Yvonne.
Not on Chuck.

Harry Dean Stanton as a repo-man on the season opener. Timothy Dalton coming up. I'm just saying...

I'll agree on Yvonne. Not on Chuck. CHUCK is one of those shows that I just have to admit that I don't get. I watched two or three episodes from the first and second seasons and gave up. Just didn't hold my interest.

Just didn't hold my interest. I watched the pilot when it first aired and promptly zoned out. It was well written and played, but as directed by McG, the pallet just seemed off to me. Later, I was given season one and zoomed through it and season two in time to DVR the third season so it all played out quickly and I didn't suffer any drawn out "will they or won't they" shtick. I think CHUCK is like a terrific pop song, completely effervescent, a perfect caper. And all the leads -- especially Chuck and Casey -- are pitch perfect.

ALIAS was another TV spy show I just didn't get. BURN NOTICE is more my speed as that's one of the few shows I watch when it actually airs and don't wait to watch it on my DVR.
And I'm also in love with COVERT AFFAIRS which stars the wonderfully named Piper Perabo.

I wish the stories on COVERT were grittier, but I like that they're more and more starting to let Piper be Piper. (But stop trying to convince us Canada is D.C. each week.) Speaking of Spy-TV, I'm still plugging away at THREE DAYS OF THE PARALLAX -- I mean RUBICON! -- even though I'm really starting to resent having been sucked into this black hole of dramatic inertia. It's become a complete chore... I DVR'ed UNDERCOVERS, as well.
