This was a very special episode for me in that it tracked my life journey with the Justice League. I was about 5 when the Filmation series aired. I had already gotten into Batman due to my Aunt's 8 mm films of the old serials and the television show, but those cartoons really cemented my insane obsession with DC heroes that still lingers today. I still think that those iconic versions of the characters are the ones that I hold dearest. SUPER FRIENDS was a big disappointment (except for the '80s incarnations, apparently, but I was at college and not watching television much), but it was all we had. Everything you covered brought back a memory. I remember the excitement I felt when CHALLENGE and ROAST were broadcast. Yeah, it sucked, but whta are the chances we'll ever see some of those characters on a live action television show again?
Thanks, guys.

I grew up in that era after the Filmation series ended (1985?) and before Batman: the Animated Series started (1992?). I do vaguely remember - just barely - the last seasons where they introduced Darkseid, Cyborg and Firestorm, but just barely. I did watch plenty of reruns of the older 70's episodes, though.
One of my favorite episodes of Justice League Unlimited is The Greatest Story Never Told. This is the one where most of the JLU are occupied with one world-threatening force, and Booster Gold (who is assigned a low-level job as "crowd control") is the only one aware of an even more threatening problem (a cosmic black hole threatening to swallow the universe). The ending confrontation between Booster and a certain high-ranking JLU member is priceless.
(Although I do have to note that there was an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "The Zeppo," that used the same basic plot earlier than JLU did.)
