Cast: Peter Cushing, Veronica Carlson, Freddie Jones. Dir: Terence Fisher. C-101 mins, TV-14, Letterbox Format My favorite of the series, where the bad doctor is the undisputed monster and the 'monster' actually sympathetic (a similar situation is explored in the last film in the series, Frankenstein and The Monster From Hell. If only I had TCM....

In today's "holy crap!" news...
TCM Underground is screening Fulci's The Beyond on the first weekend of December (Merry Christmas!). Presumably, it will be uncut.
Someone must do something. TCM Underground must be stopped before it goes too far!!!!!!!!
(If you haven't seen it, The Beyond is one of the most repulsive, disgusting and graphic movies I have ever seen. I love it. Actually, it's the only Fulci horror film I really like. His others are mediocre, but he hit this one out of the park, for some reason...)

Cast: Brigitte Helm, Alfred Abel, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, Gustav Frolich Dir: Fritz Lang BW-149 mins, TV-PG 11:00pm Metropolis Refound (2010) 12:00am Spione (1928) Cast: Gerda Maurus, Willy Fritsch, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, Lupu Pick Dir: Fritz Lang 2:30am M (1931) The mob sets out to catch a child killer whose crimes are attracting too much police attention. Yes, Lang was one of the most talented directors in film history. The last time there was a "definitive" print of METROPOLIS, I saw it at The Castro Theatre in San Francisco. One of my finest filmgoing experiences, and one of my favorite movies (I think the last time I made a list it came out at number 6). I am looking forward to Sunday!!! By the way, if you enjoy Peter Lorre, M may feature his greatest performance.

I finally saw the Hammer movie THE DEVIL RIDES OUT (AKA THE DEVIL'S BRIDE) on TCM which people always rave about saying "If you love KRONOS you'll love this!", well I thought it was a bit of a bore, some good bits, but also kind of laughable.
Did anyone catch this? Am I missing something?

Myself, I think it's an entertaining movie with Christopher Lee getting to play a rare heroic role for a welcome change.
