On the subject of rivals of James Bond, I have a good book titled The Euro-Spy Guide, that is basically an encyclopedia of spy capers made in Europe in the 60's (not all of them necessarily meant to cash in on Bond; I believe the guide includes a few Lemmy Caution films that actually pre-date Dr. No).
The book doesn't include any films made by American studios, and it's nonetheless a sizable list of films from every country in Europe (even Turkey). Yes, it truly was a craze.

I can definitely confirm we'll be doing episodes on Matt Helm and Modesty Blaise. Depending on whether we can located all the fims involved, we'll also be spotlighting Harry Palmer, Fu Manchu, a potpourri of television spies...and maybe even Dr. Goldfoot.
