That's because M Night has to cling to one of the few movies he's done that hasn't sucked. UNBREAKABLE is also one of the few he's done that he could actually write a sequel or two and get a lot of mileage out of...provided he does something about that drowning as a weakness thing. If that gets exploited too much I can really see that speed bumping the plot.

I still say that UNBREAKABLE is M Night's best movie. At least it's my favorite and along with SIGNS those are the only two of his movies I've watched more than one time.
I consider THE SIXTH SENSE to be nothing more than an episode of "Twilight Zone" on steroids. By the time it got the scene where Willis was 'talking' to his wife in the restaurant I'd figured out the 'plot twist' THE VILLAGE was pretty bad as well. I can't believe that people couldn't see the supposed 'plot twists' coming at 'em like a galloping buffalo.

The fact that Olivia Williams never reacts to Willis, even to look at him, spells it out. Once I realized no one else besides the kid was acknowledging Willis, I knew where the movie was going. There were a few things I liked about the movie, anyway, but I think you and Tom were absolutely correct when you said Stir of Echoes (which hit theaters around the same time) was the better film. I saw both on the big screen - The Sixth Sense in a packed room and Stir of Echoes with about five other people (though it was a weekday screening in the theater underneath the Times Square Virgin Megastore - a place very few people seemed to know existed before it was closed down).

With as bad as M Night's movies have been the past few years, I really don't want an Unbreakable sequel.
