I know an episode dedicated to Movie versions of TV shows, but how about vice versa?
For every M*A*S*H* and Buffy, there must be a slew of Ferris Bueller and other TV adaptations of movies gone horribly wrong.

One of the oddest examples of this that I know - the success of Animal House lead to three prime time sitcoms set in fraternity houses, for the 1979-1980 TV season.
One was Delta House, the official spin-off from the movie (Stephen Furst, Bruce McGill and John Vernon returned in the same roles). Rather than ask anyone to recreate John Belushi's performance, the producers made the lead character Bluto's younger brother.
The other two shows were meant to jump on the bandwagon of the movie's success. A young Michelle Pfieffer had a role in one of them. None of the three shows reached a second season, though.

Tom and I are both major fans of the Ferris Bueller inspired PARKER LEWIS CAN'T LOSE which was totally brilliant in it's inspired surrealism which included Parker and his two sidekicks having a hi-tech secret HQ hidden inside their high school and one of Parker's sidekicks wearing a trenchcoat with pockets that had properties like Doctor Who's TARDIS in that the pockets were bigger on the inside and contained a seemingly infinite amount of useful (and not so useful) devices. And of course the best thing about the show was the smokin' hot Melanie Chartoff as Principal Grace Musso. Unfortunantly in the last season the surrealism was removed, the show renamed simply PARKER LEWIS and it was more or less just another teen dramedy.
There was a FERRIS BUELLER show that was downright painful and din't even last a season if I remember right.
I was a big fan of ALIEN NATION and even when I saw the feature film starring James Caan and Mandy Patinkin i thought it would work as a TV show.
I thought the STARGATE TV shows were far better than the movie. Even though the movie had the always awesome Kurt Russell and James Spader I just never could get into it.

I checked IMDB, Derrick, and you are correct.
Jennifer Aniston played the part of Ferris's sister (Jennifer Grey's role) in the Ferris Bueller sitcom. I remember watching a couple of episodes and thinking the TV Ferris was okay, but Parker Lewis was definitely much, much better.

Coincidentially, Jen Aniston's character on Friends first shows up as a runaway bride. A few episodes later the guy she left at the altar appears and it is learned that she is engaged to Aniston's maid of honor, played by...Jennifer Grey!

I wouldn't have remembered Jennifer Anniston as the only thing I think she ever committed to film was worth anything was OFFICE SPACE.
